- Orlando, FL → Chicago, IL Auction and dealer stock to the Midwest; a reload there is rarely a problem.
- Jacksonville, FL → Atlanta, GA Port stock inland. Short, repeatable, and a good start to the week.
- Tampa, FL → Dallas, TX I-10 west, with Houston as the fallback delivery if the schedule slips.
- Fort Lauderdale, FL → Detroit, MI Snowbird cars going home. Full in April, thin in July.
What Florida requires
A TWIC card opens the port gate
Picking up at a port terminal in Jacksonville or Miami needs a TWIC. We check the driver has one before booking port freight, because the gate will.
Agricultural inspection stations
Commercial vehicles entering Florida stop at the state inspection stations on the way in. It is minutes rather than hours, and it belongs in the plan rather than in the delay.
A declared storm changes the week
Between June and November a declared emergency closes ports and yards and changes what is moving on the road. We re-book around the declaration instead of waiting it out.
