What Texas requires
Permits before the ramp, not at it
Texas sets its own limits on height, width and length and permits anything over them per route, through TxDMV. A load that needs one is checked against it before we accept it.
Securement, at every inspection
Texas DPS runs a lot of roadside inspections, and on a car hauler they begin with chains, straps and the paperwork that goes with them. Our safety desk preps for that rather than reacting to it.
Border freight keeps its own clock
